Dartmouth (Men's)

$195.00

The Dartmouth Ivy Oxford.

The elegant and refined color of the Nation’s northernmost Ivy, Dartmouth College, founded in 1769.

This Dartmouth Green trimmed oxford was made for late-night study (or, debauchery) sessions, socializing on The Green, grabbing a bite in Hanover or cheering on the Big Green at Memorial Field. Engineered to be proudly worn until threadbare.

Origins of Color

At an eastern college rowing race in 1866, it was one of the only colors not represented by the participants. Dartmouth did not have a color to identify its crew. Harvard had chosen crimson, Yale blue, Hamilton orange, Williams purple, Amherst yellow, and Brown brown. The following September, Dartmouth students met and settled on green as the school color, because, it is told, “ Indeed, it was the only decent color that had not been taken already.” (Source: dartmouthrowing.org)
